Local report: CSUB to offer 'personalized' baseball seats

By THE BAKERSFIELD CALIFORNIAN

Cal State Bakersfield has announced a "personalized baseball seat program" for Hardt Field.

Supporters of CSUB baseball can purchase naming rights to any seat in the new grandstand, which is currently under construction and scheduled to be completed in time for the Feb. 15 season opener vs. Nebraska.

As part of the package, fans can have their names displayed on the seast of their choice and receive the rights to purchase season tickets in that seat for life. Proceeds will go toward further improvements to Hardt Field.

"This is one of the best ways for baseball fans to truly be a part of something special," Ziggy Siegfried, CSUB's senior associate athletic director for external relations, said in a release. "By putting their names on the seats, fans are enshrining their place in CSUB baseball history and helping support this great stadium project."

The per-seat cost for the three sections facing home plate will be $1,500 with the seats facing the first- and third-base lines costing $1,000 each. Naming donations can be paid in full or over a four-year period.

For more information, call Karen Langston, CSUB's associate AD for development, at (661) 654-6226. Fans can also get more information at a "meet the team" event on Feb. 7 at Lengthwise at the Marketplace.

The seating project includes 750 new chair back seats and grandstand made possible by private donations from the Fritch Family Foundation, Bill and Holly Lazzerini and W.A. Thompson Inc.
