    In a battle of teams tied for second in the Western Athletic Conference volleyball race, New Mexico State defeated Cal State Bakersfield 25-21, 25-19, 19-25, 28-26 Thursday night in the Icardo Center.

    Danika Youngblood and Sydney Haynes combined for eight of the 16 Roadrunner kills in the third set, which allowed CSUB to take a 25-19 win and force a fourth set.

    The fourth set was tied at 23, 24, 25 and 26 before Bradley Nash's kill put the Aggies up 27-26. A CSUB attack error clinched the match for New Mexico State, which led 17-12 at one point.

    Haynes led all players with 14 kills. Youngblood tallied 13 kills and 10 digs.
