    Local report: Wright powers Blaze to fourth straight victory

    Ryan Wright had a homer, two doubles, three RBIs and two runs scored to lead the Bakersfield Blaze to a 5-3 victory Monday over the High Desert Mavericks at Sam Lynn Ballpark.

    It was the fourth straight win for Bakersfield, it's best streak of the season. Bakersfield (15-29) trailed 2-1 before scoring four fifth-inning runs. The rally was highlighted by Wright's two-out, three-run homer.

    Starter Carlos Contreras (2-4), the first of four Blaze pitchers, earned the win. He allowed one earned run in five innings, struck out four and walked three.

    El'Hajj Muhammad worked the ninth and earned his fifth save. The series concludes tonight at Sam Lynn, starting at 7:30 p.m..
