Cypress College won its third straight softball state championship with a pair of victories Sunday over College of the Siskiyous at the Dean & Adah Gay Sports Complex.
The Chargers (45-5) won three straight elimination games after losing 8-3 to Siskiyous on Saturday.
Both of Sunday's contests were one-run games. Cypress jumped out to an early 8-0 lead and then held on for a 8-7 victory in the first game.
Game two saw the Chargers overcome an early 1-0 deficit en route to a 4-3 title-clinching victory.
"Unbelievable," Cypress coach Brad Pickler said. "The kids worked hard, really hard. It's all them."
