GOP and the Hispanic vote on 'Californian Radio'
By The Bakersfield Californian
Are Hispanics better suited to be Republicans than Democrats? They're culturally traditional; they run small businesses; and millions more might have voted for Mitt Romney if he hadn't suggested "self-deportation" as a solution to illegal immigration. But polls also show Hispanics to be more liberal on social issues.
So, what is the right recipe for Republican leaders? That's the question Editorial Page Editor Robert Price will tackle Tuesday on "Californian Radio."
Joining Price will be Nick Ortiz of the Western States Petroleum Assoc., a Republican, and Kim Salas, member-at-large of the Kern County Democratic Central Committee.
The show airs from 9 to 10 a.m. on KERN-AM 1180. To call in with a question or comment, dial 842-KERN. To listen to archived shows, visit www.bakersfield.com/CalifornianRadio.
