Political notebook: Congressman to hold mobile office hours
By The Bakersfield Californian
Kern County's new congressman, Republican David Valadao of Hanford, is launching a mobile office hours program.
The program will enable constituents unable to visit Valadao's Hanford and Bakersfield offices to speak to his staff on issues closer to their home.
"Given the size of our district, I understand that it might not be possible for every constituent to seek assistance from my office located in Hanford," Valadao said in a statement. "However, it is important to me that everyone who is in need of help receives it."
Valadao's staff can also help constituents 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday at his Hanford and Bakersfield offices. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 559-582-5526. Pre-arranged appointments, however, are not required and walk-ins are always welcome.
Here are upcoming mobile office hours in Kern County:
* 3 p.m.-5 p.m. Monday (March 11), Delano Campus Science and Technology Building (Bakersfield College), 1450 Timmons Ave., Delano.
* 3 p.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday (March 12), Beale Memorial Library, 701 Truxtun Ave., Bakersfield.
