Beware the digital campaign

The art and science of presidential politics has evolved quickly and dramatically since the dawning of the digital age, and not all of it has been for the common good.
Millions of U.S. voters who have downloaded smartphone apps promoting the campaigns of President Obama and Republican rival Mitt Romney are allowing intrusive permissions required by the software, including name, address, phone number and Facebook contacts. GFI Software reports that both the "Obama for America" and "Mitt's VP" apps for Android and iOS are incredibly nosy, undoubtedly so the campaigns can collect info for future canvassing efforts.
One wonders what may lie ahead for the 2016 campaigns. Imbedded forehead chips?
