About that California shortage of farmworkers

By The Bakersfield Californian

Regarding the Sacramento Bee news article "California farmers complain of shortage of field workers," published Dec. 6 in The Californian: I really think that that should have been the front-page story because the unemployment rate is so high in California, as well as this country. If the story had been on the front page, I'm betting that those jobs would have been filled immediately.

Of course, we all know that that really wouldn't happen. Let's face the truth: There is no way that Americans, with our spoiled, soft hands, will do that work. That's why the push to enforce immigration laws is such a farce. The hardworking people that cross our southern border are the only ones willing to do this hard, backbreaking work.
