Cutting waste begins at home

By The Bakersfield Californian

I recently saw the trash of a neighbor set out for pickup with a baby car seat on top. The car seat was slightly worn but could have been refurbished and resold. Many people today want waste in government eliminated, but do not understand that waste elimination begins at home. There are several agencies here in Bakersfield that take worn-out people, match them with worn-out items and create jobs. We are glad to recycle glass, cans, newspaper, cardboard and plastic. It not only helps the environment but creates jobs. The car seat is now at the Salvation Army store, awaiting a new look and a new home.
