Roadway will just cause schism

I am in compete agreement with Bob Braley over comments in his Feb. 21 op-ed article, "Spending $270M for a road we don't need." It does seem like this road would be a big negative for Bakersfield. In addition to all the great points Braley brought up, I would like to add that this road would serve to create another schism in the town. I can already hear real estate agents saying, "You must buy west of the Centennial Corridor." Just as when I moved here from L.A. a few years ago, I frequently was advised that the area east of Highway 99 should be avoided.
