What are you folks smoking?

I'm writing in response to The Californian's Nov. 9 editorial "The dust has settled, so let's have a farm bill." I don't know what the editorial staff was smoking when it wrote "The stock market was happy just to have a winner in this week's presidential election, and it almost didn't matter who it was."
The editorial staff certainly wasn't watching the same market as the rest of the nation. The stock market took the biggest dive in more than a year (down 313 on the Dow Jones) the day after the election! And it continued sliding (down 77) the next day as well. How this can be equated as "happy" is a mystery to me. Question: Does your staff have a prescription for that?
