It's about a failure of security, not gun laws

In answer to the gentleman who wants to put the NRA out of business ("Go after the NRA," Sept. 17): It was in fact the good guys with guns who stopped this guy. Unfortunately, it was not the first good guy.

No gun control law now on the books or proposed by Obama, Congress, Dianne Feinstein or any state would have prevented this gunman from buying this gun. And he passed a federal background check.

This was a total failure in security to allow a shotgun -- a large gun -- to get by security. It was a failure in security to allow this man, who had been released, to still have a valid ID card. It was not a failure of gun laws.
