Littered roadways are disheartening

By The Bakersfield Californian

This summer my husband and I traveled north to Oregon and Washington and east to Nevada and Arizona. We truly enjoyed the nice, clean roadways, so it was very depressing to come home to all the tumbleweeds and trash.

Our once nicely landscaped freeways are overgrown with weeds and strewn with trash, and on some, the plants are dying. What a shame. Bakersfield should change its name to Tumbleweed City or Weed Patch.
