Texas abortion law yet another slam on women

Columnist Rich Lowry of the National Review wrote that Texas law requires "that abortion clinics meet the same standards as outpatient clinics" ("Meet Wendy Davis, abortion extremist," July 17).

This law requires that abortion clincs be held to the same standards as hospitals in order to make the clinics have to shut down. How many clinics can afford to have their halls widened?

This is another attack on women by the Republicans. I can see the Grand Old Party going the way of the Federalists -- extinct. However, I do agree that abortions after four months are horrible.
