Kern Medical Center is a financial mess and will impact the finances of the entire county.
Was the County Administrative Office asleep at the switch? The revenue and expenditure problems at KMC were ongoing for years. The fired CEO, Paul Hensler, was hired to correct the past problems. The financial problems instead got worse.
Why aren't the county personnel responsible for monitoring the KMC finances also being fired? Why were the KMC problems not brought to the Kern County Board of Supervisors' attention until it was out of control? The county's oversight in this matter was shameful, and those responsible should be held accountable.
There needs to be a comprehensive and transparent investigation regarding: Who knew about the problems, when did they know it and what was done?
