Let's all pick up after ourselves
By The Bakersfield Californian
On a recent walk through Panorama Park on the bluffs, as always, we encountered an obscene amount of trash (i.e., fast food wrappers, beer bottles, etc.), not to mention graffiti.
On this particular day, as we were picking up trash, I came upon an unmentionable item -- I didn't think it could get any more disgusting, what with dirty diapers, etc., but it was the proverbial "straw that broke the camel's back" moment.
Likewise, this is not the only place in our city that has a trash problem. By the way, kudos to the writer of the letter "We should be ashamed of our trashy freeways" (Cheers & Jeers, Oct. 6) regarding this same issue. I'm sure we aren't the only ones that see this problem.
Please pick up after yourselves -- our city is not your trash can.
