County health plan vote a sham

By The Bakersfield Californian

I just read about Tuesday's 3-2 vote of the Kern County Board of Supervisors to send county employees' health care management outside California to three different companies. The people who bought what Dr. Donald Cornforth was selling have been duped and better prepare for chaos and higher costs ("Questions about conflicts, Brown Act and pay-for-play," Community Voices, April 11).

I am a Medicare senior who just joined GEMCare because of the many far superior features and providers in its plan, as well as reasonable cost. It is the best in Bakersfield by far. Has no one been reading the papers for the last month or done real research? This is a sham and needs to be stopped if at all possible.
