Andrea Mae Hubbard Malsbary, 81, of Bakersfield, California passed away on December 23, 2013.
Andrea was born in Alhambra, California in 1932. She attended schools in the Los Angeles area, Chicago, and Riverdale, California. Upon graduating from Riverdale High School she worked in Fresno County libraries, managed the Riverdale Branch Library, attended Fresno Junior College, and in October of 1952 married Albert Ariel Malsbary, Jr. They moved to Bakersfield, California in 1970 with their four children.
In Bakersfield, Andrea attended Bakersfield College and worked at Kern Medical Center for over two decades. She enjoyed art, music, reading, gardening, and traveling. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Bakersfield.
Andrea is survived by her husband, Albert, of 61 years, her sister, Darlene Chandler, her children, Charlotte (Lowell) Saunders, David Malsbary, Karen Malsbary, and Pam (Gary) Metzer, seven grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.
Andrea was a hard-working and devoted mother and wife and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 18 at First Presbyterian Church, 1705 17th Street in Bakersfield.
