Norma Hope (Zarkos) Morgan was born August 23,1927 in Bakersfield, CA, and passed away November 14, 2013 in Laguna Hills, CA at the age of 86 following a stroke. She was the 6th of 11 children and the oldest daughter of Tom Zarkos and Hope Adams Zarkos. She was preceded in death by 8 siblings, her parents, and her husband of 55 years, Harold Eugene Morgan. Norma is survived by her siblings William Zarkos and Connie Zarkos Brennan, her son Donald Morgan (Debbie), her daughter Sandra Rousseau (Richard), her daughter Susan Hall (Darwin), numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, three granddaughters, and nine great-grandchildren.
She worked as a dispatcher for the Kern County Sheriff's Department for over 20 years before retiring to enjoy traveling and spending time with her husband Gene, her extended family and friends. Norma was a warm and lively woman, with a multitude of talents and interests including cooking, crafts, games, sports, genealogy, history, politics, music, and films. She was a colon cancer survivor, and despite other minor health problems, remained independent until the very end. Norma enjoyed spending time with her family, and especially took great joy in getting to know her great grandchildren.
Her kind and vivacious spirit will be greatly missed by all who had the good fortune to know her. You will be forever in our hearts, our beloved sister, mother, aunt, grandmother and friend.
