A thousand American flags will fly at the park through Monday in a project presented by Breakfast Rotary.

Each flag is sponsored by someone wanting to honor and thank a particular person, and at weekend's end each sponsor can have their flag and a certificate to give their honoree or keep.

You can visit through Monday. Organizers also noted specific times at which particular events will occur.

* Saturday and Sunday evenings, "Taps" at sunset.

* 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Memorial Day, a Patriotic Fair.

* Noon to 2 p.m. Memorial Day, a ceremony including a drum corps performance, color guard, speeches, and "Taps" when the main flag is lowered.

* 3 to 6 p.m. Memorial Day, sponsors can pick up their flags.
