Recording artist Michael McDonald told listeners of "First Look with Scott Cox" Friday that he enjoys touring "every bit as much, maybe even a little more" now than in the past. You learn to appreciate the same experiences for different reasons, he explained.
McDonald joined the simulcast by phone to promote his June 19 show at Rabobank Theater with Boz Scaggs.
Host Scott Cox showered McDonald with compliments, calling him "maybe the greatest singer of all time" and saying "I can't think of anyone who's had a more amazing or fulfilling career than you" and "you have played with everyone there is."
McDonald thanked Cox several times for his praise.
Cox asked McDonald who's the best musician with whom he's played.
"Everybody is so different and everybody has their own unique gift," McDonald said, adding that's what he loves about the art form of music. No two people approach it the same way, he said.
McDonald said it's a privilege to tour with Scaggs, and he finds he'll listen to the entire show because the music is so great.
