Woman killed in Stockdale Highway motorcycle accident identified

A 35-year-old female passenger was killed early Thursday morning in a single-vehicle, motorcycle accident on Stockdale Highway, police said.

Lorena Rubio Kraemer, of Bakersfield, died at the scene of accident, according to the Kern County coroner's office.

The driver of the motorcycle, 30-year-old Sean Culp, was also seriously injured and was taken to Kern Medical Center in critical condition, officers said.

Culp was going east on Stockdale Highway in the 10100 block at 12:10 a.m. when for an unknown reason he lost control, struck the raised center divider and collided with a tree, police reported.

Alcohol is suspected as a factor in the crash, police said.
