Worth noting in the community: Art workshops, canned food drive and more

The Bakersfield Museum of Art is offering new classes and workshops for children to get creative and make their own art.
From 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, the Side By Side program will host its second Saturday of each month class where preschool and elementary school children can discover artistic talents while building relationships with their parents.
Over the next 12 weeks, students will have the opportunity to create thier own artwork in various mediums ranging from sculpture to painting.
The fee is $10 for members, and the non-members fee is $15.
The museum is also offering a Children's Spring Workshop, March 25 to 28 running from 8:30 a.m. to noon, for children ages 6 to 12.
During this four-day workshop, museum instructors will introduce children to painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, collage and more. Each day, students will learn about famous artists and art techniques, while exploring and being creative, according to a museum's news release.
Members pay $85, and the non-member fee is $95.

The 13th Annual Kern County Teacher Job Fair is taking place April 13 at the Larry E. Reider Education Center for fully credentialed or intern-eligible by August 2013 individuals.
This is the county's largest gathering of school district recruiters in one location. It's an opportunity to see what positions or anticipated future openings may be available in the 2013-2014 school year, according to a Kern County Superintendent of Schools news release.
It will run from 8 a.m. to noon.
Pre-registered attendees will be allowed into the event at their scheduled time and will be allotted one hour to meet with as many districts as possible. Available event times are 8 a.m., 9:20 a.m., and 10:40 a.m. Non-registered attendees should report to the event no earlier than 10:30 a.m. for on-site registration. Admittance will be determined by occupancy.
