Guns, ammo and drugs found buried by residence
By BREAKING NEWS BLOG
Deputies responding to a call from a concerned citizen Thursday evening dug up a cache of guns and ammunition in an unincorporated area of Bakersfield.
Deputies reported finding three revolvers, nine shotguns and rifles, and more than 1,500 rounds of ammunition buried by the side of a residence in the 4900 block of Mayfair Court. The guns had been buried inside of a truck cross bed toolbox.
One of the rifles was a high-powered SKS rifle with two 30-round magazines, deputies said. Also, a .38 caliber revolver was found in a plastic bag in the backyard, hiddend under a pile of dog feces.
Deputies said a small amount of marijuana and methamphetamine were found partially buried near where the guns were dug up.
The deputies were tipped off to the cache by a call reporting people were digging up guns in the area, deputies said. Three people were arrested.
Nolberto Quintero, 23, was arrested on suspicion of being a felon in possession of pepper spry and less than an ounce of marijuana.
Raul Gomez, 22, was arrested on suspicion of two counts of possession of short-barreled shotguns.
Roman Moreno, 32, was arrested on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia.
