Lung Association, museum among groups needing volunteers

Odyssey Hospice is looking for compassionate individuals to provide caring companionship to hospice patients and their families. Training is provided. To find out more, contact Kimberly Pounder at 324-1232 or kimberly.pounder@odsyhealth.com.
American Lung Association needs volunteers to help with the Fight For Air Walk. Volunteers are needed on both prep day, Friday, April 12, and event day, Saturday, April 13. Help with unloading and set up of equipment, tables, chairs, tents and banners. Assist in the food area, with face painting, in the supervised kids zone or with clean up.
The association is also looking for volunteers with great computer skills and general office equipment knowledge to help with administrative work and fundraising. Assist with data entry, creating packets, phones, fax, copies, mailing, filing and more.

Optimal Hospice is recruiting music lovers to be part of a karaoke singers group in the Tehachapi area. You don't have to be the best singer, you just need a loving heart and time to bring the gift of song to hospice patients and their families. Mayor's Freeway Cleanup needs volunteers to assist with de-littering the freeway off- and on-ramps. Vests, helmets and trash bags are provided. Volunteers will meet at 8:45 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at the Park & Ride lot on Stockdale Highway, west of Oak Street. Travel by bus/van to the various cleanup locations and return by 11 a.m. Mark your calendars for Feb. 23, March 9 and 23, April 6 and 20 and May 4 and 18. For future cleanups and additional information, call 326-3770. If there's adverse weather (active rain or fog), cleanup will be cancelled.
