Ronald McDonald House is looking for compassionate individuals to help with guest services. Kern County Animal Control needs people interested in being foster parents to both dogs and cats. No experience is required and some training is provided. Mayor's Freeway Cleanup: Volunteers are needed to help de-litter freeway off/on ramps. Vests, helmets and trash bags are provided. Volunteers will meet at 8:45 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Park & Ride lot on Stockdale Highway, west of Oak Street. Travel by bus/van to the various cleanup locations and return by 11 a.m. Mark your calendars for Feb 23, March 9 and 23, April 6 and 20 and May 4 and 18.
