Afterward, lunch was provided at Yokuts Park where many dignitaries thanked the sponsors and volunteers and awarded proclamations and scholarships. This program concides with Keep America Beautiful and the Great American Clean Up programs.

Picking up trash one piece at a time. Planting flowers. Tending gardens. Removing graffiti. They're all part of the activities associated with Keep Bakersfield Beautiful and the Great American Cleanup.

And Saturday, after getting their hands dirty to better the city, thousands of volunteers convened at the Green Expo at Yokuts Park.
