Agent Jack Bauer is a 1-year-old cat that is up for adoption.

"He's a talker and a love bucket," Julie Johnson, who runs the shelter on Mount Vernon Avenue and is also Bakersfield SPCA director, said Friday on "First Look with Scott Cox."

Bauer has been fixed and has all his shots. He's been at the city shelter for almost a month and would make a great companion, Johnson said.

You can visit Agent Jack Bauer and other pets at the City of Bakersfield Animal Care Center at 201 Mt. Vernon Ave. or call 832-7387.

Johnson also mentioned the Bakersfield Animal Control Division will hold a low-cost rabies, vaccination and licensing clinic Saturday.

The clinic will run from 9 a.m. to noon at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park, 901 E. California Ave.

Rabies vaccinations will be offered for $5; licensing fees depend on whether dogs are spayed/neutered. Free identification microchips are offered to all currently licensed dogs; microchips for cats are $10.
