'First Look': Check out 'The Grapes of Wrath' on the big screen

"The Grapes of Wrath" film will be on the big screen, and you won't want to miss it.

Thursday on "First Look with Scott Cox," Californian lifestyles editor Jennifer Self talked about the Friday event that will include a concert by singer/songwriter Dave Alvin before the film screening.

Joining Self was Richard Collins, dean of the School of Humanities at Cal State Bakersfield, who said he has a personal connection with "The Grapes of Wrath."

"It's part of my family history and this whole year is a year of celebration, to give back to my family," Collins said.

The concert kicks off at 7 p.m. at the Fox Theater. Immediately following, doors will reopen at 8 p.m. and the free screening of the film begins promptly at 8:30 p.m.
