Two more flu deaths reported

Two more Kern County residents have died from the flu, the Kern County Public Health Services Department reported Tuesday.

The total number of fatalities this season is now 15.

Ninety-three people have been hospitalized with flu-like symptoms and 48 of those people were admitted to an intensive care unit during their illness, according to Public Health.

Of the 72 cases of flu confirmed so far, 26 were of the H1N1 or "swine flu" type.
