The Kern County Board of Supervisors recently honored four Hall Ambulance Service employees as the county's EMS Personnel of the Year for 2013. They are: Emergency Medical Dispatcher of the Year KIMBERLY DRENNAN, Emergency Medical Technician of the Year CHRISTINA RINI , Paramedic of the Year NATHAN KENNEDY and LES HUTCHISON, recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Drennan has worked at Hall Ambulance since 2004. She is a certified Advanced National Emergency Medical Dispatcher and a Kern County Certified Emergency Medical Dispatcher.
Rini started at Hall Ambulance in 2007. She helped bring a weekly hypertension screening program to senior citizens in Rosamond.
Kennedy began at Hall Ambulance as a youth member of its Service Explorer Post. He has worked as an EMT, a paramedic and a field training officer; he now works in the company's Hall Critical Care Transport division.
Hutchison began his EMS career in May 1973 and is completing his 40th year with Hall Ambulance. He has worked in several positions in that time, including EMT, paramedic and field supervisor. He is now part of the Hall CCT program, serving as senior EMT and emergency vehicle operator instructor.
ALIZA MCCRACKEN has been honored with an Art Hong Kong international award for her published artwork and graphic design. The award recognized her achievements in and advocacy for the arts.
TOM BRACKEN has been elected president of the Bakersfield Chapter of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants for 2013-14. Bracken, chief financial officer of Sunridge Nurseries, succeeds Lisa Coston, also a certified public accountant, of Nabors Well Services. He previously served as the chapter's vice president. Bracken earned a bachelor's degree in business administration/accounting at Fresno State University; he is a member of the Kern County Farm Bureau's executive committee.
Bracken is joined on the chapter's board are Vice President LAUREN BE, of Wayne Long & Co.; Treasurer CRAIG RICKETT, of Brown Armstrong CPAs; and Secretary DANHIRA MILLAN, of Barbich Hooper King Dill Hoffman. CalCPA's Bakersfield chapter has more than 550 Kern County members.
VIKI SPEEGLE has joined the accounting firm of Barbich Hooper King Dill Hoffman as a staff accountant. Speegle has a bachelor's degree in business administration with an emphasis in accounting. She was vice president of Cal State Bakersfield's University Accounting Association from 2012 to 2013. She successfully completed an internship at Barbich Hooper in the 2013 tax season.
VESTA BURGESS has joined the accounting firm of Barbich Hooper King Dill Hoffman as a staff accountant. Burgess has a bachelor's degree in business administration with an emphasis in accounting. She successfully completed an internship at Barbich Hooper in the 2013 tax season.
