Woman shot, live-in boyfriend arrested

A woman survived a gunshot wound to the head Saturday night and her live-in boyfriend was arrested for attempted murder.

Kern County Sheriff's deputies were called out to a domestic dispute to the 900 block of Royal Way in east Bakersfield at around 8:45 p.m. Saturday.

When they arrived they discovered a woman suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

She was awake and communicated with deputies before she was taken to an area hospital, Sheriff's department reports stated.

Deputies arrested the woman's boyfriend, Ignacio Gonzalez, 25, on suspicion of attempted murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
