Worth noting in the community: Food Bank resource fair, MS presentation

Community Action Partnership of Kern's Food Bank will hold the Partnership Resource Fair from 8 a.m. to noon Aug. 27 at 1807 Feliz Drive. The fair is to benefit food bank clients and local families by showcasing multiple community resources available to people experiencing financial difficulties because of unemployment.
Participating agencies include Career Services Center, Goodwill Industries, Dependable Staffing Solutions, Stewards Inc. and Golden Empire Transit. Free hair cuts will be given away. If you are interested in volunteering or donating a booth, call 398-4520.
The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Southern California Chapter will bring two MS speciality neurologists from USC Medical Center to Bakersfield to discuss the latest news in MS research and trends and to answer questions. Dr. Margaret Burnett and Dr. Regina Berkovich will be at the Clerou Lecture Center located on the Truxtun campus of Mercy Hospital from 1 to 3 p.m. Sept. 18 to help kick off Walk MS 2010.
Those who attend will have the opportunity to learn about and register for Bakersfield's Walk MS 2010 on Oct. 30. If you are interested, you must pre-register for the event by Sept. 16 by calling 321-9512.
