The shooting, Tuesday morning at 9:19, occurred at Flower and Brown streets in east Bakersfield. And then the victims scattered.

Each of the three wounded teenagers, according to Kern County Sheriff's deputies, was found a block away in different directions.

But the suspect, described as a black male wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and driving a silver full-size 4-door sedan, was nowhere to be found.

Deputies said the victims' injuries were not life-threatening.

Beyond that, they released little information.

What is known is that when deputies arrived at the site of the shooting, there were no victims. The first, a 16-year-old male, was found a block east at Flower and Williams streets with gunshot wounds to his legs.

Then the second, a 17-year-old male with gunshot wounds to his arm and legs, was found a block west of the shooting at Flower and Haley streets.

The third victim, a 19-year-old male with gunshot wounds to his arm and face, was found a block south of the shooting at Quincy and Brown streets.

The three were reunited at nearby Kern Medical Center where they were taken for treatment.

Deputies had roped off the area's surrounding streets by 9:30 a.m. for their investigation and were directing residents to drive around. A motive had not been determined by Tuesday night.

Anyone with information on the shootings is asked to call the Kern County Sheriff's Office at 861-3110 or Secret Witness at 322-4040. Anonymous text messages can be sent to TIP411 (847411); just type the key word "KCSO" prior to the message.
