Campout Against Cancer is a fundraiser dedicated to providing financial support to fill the gap in paying medical-related expenses for Kern County residents fighting cancer.
To date, more than 96 local residents have been helped by the Kern County Cancer Fund, which will benefit from money raised at the campout.
That is what fund board members Gabe Woodward and Robin Mangarin-Scott, said Friday on "First Look with Scott Cox."
"Timing is essential in their treatment and the last thing they need is to worry about the cost," Mangarin-Scott said.
The campout will start the night of April 4 and end April 5. The location is expected to be revealed soon. There will be three competitions.
The first teams captains meeting is at 9 a.m. this Saturday at 6501 Truxtun Ave.
