Do you like to ride your bicycle at night but don't have the equipment to ride safety?
Not to worry. Bike Bakersfield will be give out taillights and headlights around Bakersfield on Thursday to improve the safety of bicycle riders in the community, a Bike Bakersfield news release said.
The organization received a $1,000 donation from SmithTech USA and will use the money to hand out lights in four locations.
Booths will be set up at 1708 Chester Ave., the corner of Mount Vernon Avenue and Niles Street, the corner of 8th and P streets, and the corner of Chester Avenue and Roberts Lane.
Lights will be distributed from 5 to 7 p.m. or until they run out.
If you want to have a bite of Hodel's Cinnamon Rolls while supporting a cause, you'll have a chance at the second annual Pennies for Your Thoughts drive supporting the Alzheimer's Disease Association of Kern County.
The freshly baked sticky buns will be served from 6 to 10 a.m. Jan 15 at Compassion Corner, across from KGET Channel 17, an Alzheimer's Association news release said.
You can enjoy an eight pack of cinnamon rolls with a minimum donation of $10. Cash, check, Visa, Master Card and American express are accepted.
Bakersfield Condors mascot "Colonel Claw'd" will also be at the event, signing autographs.
