Famoso Raceway is revving up for a busy weekend, with Friday Test and Tune and Saturday Night Nitro events.
"The cars are going to run really well in this weather," Blake Bowser from the raceway said Friday on "First Look with Scott Cox."
Friday night is Test and Tune, with gates opening at 7 p.m. and cars making their way down the track at 8 p.m.
For Saturday Night Nitro, gates open at noon, cars run from 2 p.m. to midnight, and the Nitros run at 8:30 and 10:30 p.m.
"That's a first-class raceway you guys run out there," simulcast host Scott Cox said.
Californian sports writer Mike Griffith noted Famoso is doing three Nitro shows in the summer months: June 15, July 13 and Sept. 7.
"It's something to see," Griffith said of events at the all-concrete quarter-mile track.
"We are dedicating ourselves to bringing in other race events," Bowser said.
Most of the drivers at the Nitro shows are from Southern California, Bowser said, and will make the two-hour trip to run their cars, considering Famoso home.
