Seventy contestants will endeavor to cook the best menudo dish ever as they go after the grand prize and bragging rights at the 16th annual Menudo Cook-Off this Sunday.
Menudo is a traditional Mexican soup made with beef stomach in broth with a red chili pepper base and hominy.
The cook-off, put together by the Kern County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, attracts 8,000 to 10,000 people, chamber President and CEO Jay Tamsi said Wednesday on "First Look with Scott Cox."
A panel of judges will decide who the first-, second- and third-place winners are.
If you're not a fan of menudo, there will be vendors selling different foods such as tacos, Tamsi said.
The event is from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Kern County Fairgrounds.
