Californian columnist Herb Benham brought in a silver platter of Twinkies and other Hostess products Thursday to "First Look with Scott Cox."
"This is like a Holy Grail because we've been without Twinkies for a while," Californian Eye Street Editor Jennifer Self said.
Benham's Sunday column is slated to be about the return of Twinkies, and he's having neighborhood kids convene on his porch for a taste test.
The columnist went on a shopping quest to find the reintroduced treats, picking up a 50-pound watermelon along the way and found "there is such a run on these things."
Benham said everyone has some memory of a Hostess product.
"This is magic food. It's on the same line as Cheetos. You don't really need to know what's in Cheetos," Benham said. He went on to say, "Every so often you gotta just allow yourself a little bit of magic food."
