Veterans will have the opportunity to talk to possible employers at the first veteran's job fair in Kern County.
Friday on "First Look with Scott Cox," Dick Taylor, director of the Kern County Veterans Service Department, said veterans should be prepared to do on the spot interviews.
"We have a huge list of employers so come dressed like you were going to apply for a job and bring a resume," Taylor said.
A few local companies that will be at the Nov. 6 job fair include, Halliburton, Goodwill Industries, and the California Highway Patrol, among others.
Veterans are asked to take their veteran's identification card or have a copy of their DD214 forms.
The job fair is from 9 a.m. to noon at the American Legion Post 26, 2020 H Street.
Taylor also talked about the Marine Corps 238th birthday celebration at 10 a.m. on Nov. 8.
There will be a flag raising ceremony, cake and more at the veterans service department, 1120 Golden State Avenue.
