Men, women and children were out in force Saturday morning for the first Uniquely Bakersfield Walk/Run to benefit the Alliance Against Family Violence and Sexual Assault.

The event included a 1-mile walk, and 5K and 10K runs — and a chance to showcase just a bit of what makes Bakersfield special. Runners took to the grounds of Pioneer Park, the bike path and even ran through Sam Lynn Ballpark.

Californian photographer Casey Christie was there to capture the spirit of the morning with these images.
