Racers, start your engines and head over to the Kern County Raceway Park this weekend for the final races of the year.
Steven Blakesley, marketing director of the raceway, talked about the first season and what's in store for the future Tuesday on "First Look with Scott Cox."
"When we opened we weren't really ready but we have been improving and we have a lot of ideas for after the season," Blakesley said.
To kick off the end of the first season, starting at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, fans will have a chance to meet, greet and get an autograph from NASCAR K&N Pro Series West racers.
Races start at 5:30 p.m. with two local races, the NASCAR Sped-Mod and the NASCAR CITGO Late Model. The KNPSW race starts at 7:30 p.m.
"It's a pack full of excitement, ending with fireworks," Blakesley said.
So what's next after this weekend's event?
Blakesley said the raceway is big enough to host concerts, car shows and a variety of events that require a large venue. But the raceway is still looking at options.
The raceway seats up to 5,000 people, he said.
