California's historic drought has some Bakersfield residents wondering how, or even if, they can truly play a significant part in conserving the city's overall water supply.

Public participation in water conservation, as well as groundwater levels and supply will be explored in depth at a forum of Urban Water Purveyors scheduled from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. March 13 at the Bakersfield City Council Chambers, City Hall South, 1501 Truxtun Ave.

Participating water purveyors include the city of Bakersfield, California Water Service Co., Oildale Mutual Water Co., Greenfield Water District, Vaughn Water Co., and the Kern County Water Agency.

For more information, contact the city of Bakersfield's Water Resources Department at 326-3715.
