Campout Against Cancer is a fundraiser to help Kern County residents going through cancer treatment, and it focuses on directly helping local people.

From fun, challenging games to live music and a dinner, you can enjoy an overnight stay with friends and family at the State Farm Sports Village.

Tuesday on "First Look with Scott Cox," Shannon Hernandez from Comprehensive Blood & Center and volunteer Christy Fitzgerald talked about the April 4 and 5 campout.

"The money stays local and it helps patients pay for thier cancer treatments," Hernandez said.

The fundraiser will benefit the Kern County Cancer Fund, which is currently financially assisting 106 patients in Kern.
