Tonight's the start of a four-game home series for the Bakersfield Blaze, so team promoters pitched Thirsty Thursday.

It's from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Sam Lynn Ball Park, Dan Besbris, Bakersfield Blaze marketing and communications director, said on "First Look with Scott Cox." The team plays the Stockton Ports at 7:30 tonight.

Thirsty Thursday is $1 beer in the shaded picnic tent from when the gates open until one hour after the first pitch. Hot dogs are $2.

Besbris and assistant general manager Philip Guiry also talked about -- and gave to host Scott Cox -- a new Bakersfield Blaze camouflage ball cap. On Saturday, the first 1,000 fans will get a free hat.

The Blaze are currently 16-26.

"I secretly love Sam Lynn Ball Park," Guiry said.
