Immunization clinic hours reduced by heat

San Joaquin Community Hospital's children's mobile immunization clinics will close earlier this week "due to the extreme heat forecast."

The hospital announced the shorter hours in a news release Monday night. Immunizations will still be provided at no charge at the following locations and times:

* Wal-Mart parking lot, 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday, 8400 Rosedale Highway.

* San Joaquin Community Hospital parking lot, 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, 2801 Chester Ave.

* Back to school fair at Central Park at Mill Creek, 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, parking lot at 21st and R streets.

* The Spanish Radio Group health fair, noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Kern County Fairgrounds, 1142 S. P St.

Parents are asked to bring their child's immunization record cards, the news release said.
