The 9/11 Support Our Troops Memorial Run is taking off like fire.

Bill Pitcher said Wednesday on "First Look with Scott Cox" that fliers passed out around the community have really helped and the group has received a lot of positive feedback.

Pitcher, the founder of the race, invited everyone, even those who don't ride motorcycles, out to Minter Field Air Museum in Shafter.

Proceeds from the race will go toward helping local veterans.

The Sept. 11 ride will begin at Harley-Davidson of Bakersfield. There will be food and guest speakers at the event, Pitcher said.

The motorcycle assembly starts at 3 p.m. with the ride starting promptly at 6 p.m. A donation of $10 per bike is appreciated.

For more information, call Pitcher at 332-7524.
