The "OldSoul/NewHorizon" art show by artist Faith Taylor promises a selection of contemporary modern landscapes and abstract colorful paintings.

Tuesday on "First Look with Scott Cox," Don Martin, creative director of Metro Galleries, talked about the newest art show debuting on First Friday.

"This is Faith's first time at the exhibit and she actually lived in Bakersfield so she has a connection to us," Martin said.

There will be 47 paintings in the gallery available for purchase.

So how do artists get to display their art at the gallery?

Martin said that seven years ago he would search for artists online -- but things have changed.

"I get from six to 10 submissions a month of artists who want to put on a show," Martin said.

Metro Galleries will be open from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday. Food will be catered by Mama Roomba.
