Looking for a job as a rocket avionics engineer? How about a gig as a propulsion test manager? Or a terrestrial safety officer?
These jobs, and about 100 more, are open and awaiting qualified applicants at two unique companies with operations in eastern Kern County.
Virgin Galactic, which bills itself as the world's first commercial spaceline and flagship of Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Group, along with its sister space vehicle manufacturing organization, The Spaceship Company, are hosting a career fair in Mojave from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at Mojave Air and Spaceport, 16555 Spaceship Landing Way in Mojave.
Other open positions include several in engineering, as well as open positions for procurement gurus, composite technicians and more down-to-earth jobs, such as accountant, business analyst and executive associate.
Interested applicants can attend the fair at any time within the three-hour window. Those who are unable to come to Mojave can participate in a one-hour virtual career fair from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday where technicians, engineers, executives and possibly a pilot or two will answer participants' questions.
To join the virtual fair, go to Google+ Hangout at google.com/+VirginGalactic.
