Tons of people showed up Saturday morning to witness the implosion of the old Kern Power Plant along Rosedale Highway in northwest Bakersfild.

What started out as a seemingly festive atmosphere became somber as it quickly became clear at least one man was seriously injured by flying shrapnel, and others were injured.
